  • Founded in 2007, Zeta had grown into a leading marketing technology company providing AI-powered data and insights into consumer preference and behaviors across online and offline channels
  • In preparation for an initial public offering in 2021, the company sought to expand and diversity its board with an outside, independent director

Challenge

  • Finding an independent NED who could bring strategic value and insight into the company’s core customer markets 
  • A Director who would bring diversity of background and thinking to a board previously weighted towards investors and company management 
  • A Director with the gravitas and experience to partner closely with a high-profile founder/CEO 

Result

  • Zeta selected Jene Elzie for the role. Jene brought sterling educational credentials (a BA and Master’s degrees from Stamford University) and deep executive marketing experience from her role leading International Marketing for the National Basketball Association. She also sits on the boards of Varsity Brands and Invited (formerly ClubCorp).
